Love. Beyond the Interface
I think that love is a beautiful thing. If any, it gets people together, and I don't think that there is anything more interesting about life than each other. Furthermore I also agree with Eleanor's father (movie "Contact") when he told her "You know, after all of our searching, we discovered that what makes all this emptiness bearable [talking about the interstellar empty space] is each other". I also agree with the Dalai Lama when he said once that "Love begins with understanding".
Love is beautiful, but not magical. When the time comes that we have to talk about it, it's ok, and even a sign of maturity, to talk open-mindedly about it (possibly with the same scientific rigor which has been so successful in other domains). After all, the true purpose of life is not to get lost in endless fairy tales, but to prepare the intellectual legacy we will leave to our children. And this legacy starts with us...
